THE INITIAL STEP OF SELF-DISCOVERY

As we embark on the journey of self-discovery, it is vital to realize that all growth initiates the process of evolution. And true to life, it takes steady effort to see outcomes emerge.

According to psychologists, self-discovery is the corner stone of personal growth.

"Self-discovery is courageous, intentional, and an ongoing process of turning inward to understand one's true values, needs and desires..." I agree! We all know it takes courage to venture into some of these uncomfortable places.

As the book begins, the young girl in, What It's Like to Be Me, goes to the forest and asks a big tree what they see in her. With her dissatisfaction to the tree's response she quickly realizes that the path of self-discovery is going to take a bit of work; how insightful!

The thing is, no matter what road we take in life, it is the road not taken. We never know what hurtles will effect our journey, and what experiences along the way will impact our lives forever.
